At Shine, safety is one of our top priorities. We strive to maintain a work environment that follows strict protocols to ensure the safety of our team. We sat down with Safety Manager, Bo Mabray to discuss the precautions we take here at Shine to make our work environment safe and compliant with necessary regulations and standards.
Our Safety Teams’ Mission statement states, “Creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for everyone! A culture where risk management, safety, and continuous process improvement influence leaderships decision making, improving the daily lives of each team member.”
This mission statement drives everything we do here at Shine. In order to meet our goals and maintain this high standard of safety, we follow all safety regulations set forth by the Department of Labor. This list includes, but is not limited to:
CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) - General Industry 1910
CFR - Construction 1926
CFR – Transportation 49
American National Standards Institute
National Fire Protection Association
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
In addition to Department of Labor regulations, Shine follows self-implemented SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) that help make Shine Solar the Gold standard when it comes to protecting its team members.
Shines team members also receive training from an in-house Outreach Instructor who provides 10-hour construction certifications prior to anyone stepping foot on a job site.
All of these required trainings and safety procedures combined reflect in the company’s extremely low injury rates. Data shows that Shine Solar is 40% safer than the national average construction industry company.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a safe working environment for our team and strive to become better each day. We value our people and can’t wait to see what is in the future for Shine!
