Why 2023 is the Year for Solar
As the New Year approaches, many people make New Year’s resolutions to get fit, travel, or save more money. Here at Shine Solar, we know that saving money is at the top of most our customers’ lists and we wanted to give you a quick rundown of why 2023is THE year to go solar!
-The Investment Tax Credit Has Been Extended
According to Forbes, “The ITC effectively raises the amount of credit you can apply against your income tax burden from 26% to 30%. Instead of decreasing next year as scheduled, it’s been extended until 2032 before it reduces again. The tax credit is also retroactive to solar energy systems installed during the 2022 tax year.” Many people lived in fear that with the tax credit slowly disappearing, they were running out of time to go solar. This is simply not the case. With the extension of the ITC, the tax credit will remain at 30% until the year 2032, making 2023 the perfect year to take the plunge and go solar.

- Solar Technology is Better Than Ever
Over time, solar technology has improved to become better quality, less expensive, and more efficient than we have ever seen before. As we enter 2023, new technologies in solar energy are emerging. Shine Solar has partnered with GAF Energy to bring our customer base the latest in solar technology- the solar shingle. The solar shingle offers a new look to solar, blending seamlessly with your roof and offering a more aesthetic way to go solar. Additionally, new materials are being used in traditional panel solar systems that provide solar owners with the assurance that their system will last a lifetime. All of these improvements combine to create more efficient, quality systems for solar owners to enjoy.
